Agralawn Crabgrass Killer is a natural product made from Cinnamon, Corn Meal, Wheat Flour, Sodium Bicarbonate, Cumin. Try the crabgrass killer that’s safer around people and pets and kills existing crabgrass without harming St. Augustine, Bahia, Common Bermuda and Centipede grass. Garden Weasel Crabgrass Killer is a southern region post-emergent herbicide for year-round use and spot treatment control of: Crabgrass (Hairy), Crabgrass (Smooth), Basketgrass, Chickweed, Clover Sticker burrs, Goat head weeds, Nut sedge grass, Dollar weed (Pennywort), Dallis grass, Texas poinsettia (euphorbia), Yellow Woodsorrel, Heartleaf Drymary, Cuban Purple Woodsorrel, India Crabgrass, Blanket Crabgrass, Virginia Buttonweed and other similar weeds.

Additionally, Agralawn Crabgrass Killer is selective on Paspalum and Zoysia. If using a safe, potent and selective herbicide is important to you, then Agralawn Crabgrass Killer is an excellent choice for year-round lawn care, as well as vegetable gardens, plant and flower beds. Some users in northern climates use Agralawn to kill crabgrass in isolated parts of the yard where it’s not intermingled with bluegrass, fescue or other northern grasses.

Agralawn Crabgrass Killer is a Post-Emergent herbicide for year round use and spot treatment control of:

  • Crabgrass (Hairy)
  • Crabgrass (Smooth)
  • Basketgrass
  • Chickweed
  • Clover
  • Dollarweed
  • And other similar weeds.

Safe to Use On: St Augustine, Common Bermuda, Bahia, and Centipede Grasses. When used properly, this product will cause very little reation or yellowing to the above listed grass types. This product is taken in through the leaves to kill existing weed and roots.

Application Recommendations: Agralawn Crabgrass Killer works best when applied to wet grass/weed. You can wet the affected area with a hose, irrigation, spray bottle or apply immediately AFTER rain. Personally, I have found that applying the product first thing in the morning with the morning dew works the best. Think about it. The dew already covers the plant and is enough to wet and activate the product.  Apply only to the affected area being careful to dust all of the target weed this product is known to control. A light to medium coating applied in even strokes will work best. Noticeable results in 2 to 4 days. Do not apply if rain is forecasted for several days in a row or prior to watering the lawn to avoid washing away product. Reapply as needed. Do not use when turf is dormant or below 60 degrees.

*** Please note that the YELLOW food coloring had to be removed from the product for registration purposes. The product will still turn a slight yellow from the Cumin. It will not be a bright yellow as in the past due to the removal of the food coloring. The YELLOW coloring was for a visual reference only and did not contribute to how the product works.

Questions and Answers

Q: Is it safe?

A: Yes; Agralawn Crabgrass Killer is safe around people, pets and the environment.

Q: How do I use it?

A: It's very easy; just wet the area you want to treat with water and sprinkle the crabgrass control over the area.

Q: How long does it take for the crabgrass to die?

A: Noticeable results will be seen in 3-5 Days.

Q: How big of an area will the bottle treat?

A: One 2 lb. bottle will treat 100-200 sq. ft., depending on the applicator.

Q: Will it kill the seeds?

A: No; it will only kill actively growing crabgrass and weeds.

Q: Will it hurt my grass?

A: Agralawn Crabgrass Killer will not harm St. Augustine, Bermuda or Bahia grasses. Other grasses are being tested throughout the country.

Q: What if it doesn’t work?

A: It will work; just make sure the area is wet enough and evenly treated. It’s very easy to use.

Q: What do you mean “wet enough” and why does it turn yellow?

A: The Agralawn Crabgrass Killer product turns yellow to let you know it has been fully activated. Water is the source of its activation so enough water is needed to activate the process.

Q: Why do I want it “activated"?

A: Within minutes of activation the product begins to kill the weeds.

Q: How can I best “activate” the product?

A: Wet the desired area, apply the crabgrass control and wait a few minutes. If not activated, then lightly mist over the product so as to completely activate. (Do not wash the product off of the weed’s leaves.) Q: How can I “wet the area?” A: Use a spray bottle, backpack sprayer, water hose or irrigation.

Q: How long should I “not disturb” the product after it turns yellow?

A: Leave the area undisturbed for 24 to 48 hours.

Q: What do you mean “undisturbed?"

A: This product is taken in through the weed’s leaves and will not be taken up through the root system. Irrigation, mowing and rain can disturb the product enough so as to reduce the desired results.

Q: What do you mean “evenly treated?”

A: You may think more is better, but piling this product on weeds will only cost you more. A nice, light to medium application is adequate, as long as activation was accomplished.

Q: Is it temperature sensitive?

A: No; in all of our years of testing Agralawn Crabgrass Killer has been 100% effective in all temperature zones in North America.

Q: Can I use it year round?

A: Yes; but applying it to weeds that are already dead or completely dormant would be a waste of product.

Q: Do you have any tips to help me save money on your product?

A: Yes. Remember to completely cover the area you want treated. Try and catch weeds at their smallest stage or simply mow them down to reduce the size and area you have to cover, reducing the amount of product you’ll need. Do not completely remove the weeds as the treatment must be absorbed by the leafy part of the weeds. Safe to Use On: St Augustine, Common Bermuda, Bahia, and Centipede Grasses. When used properly, this product will cause very little reation or yellowing to the above listed grass types. This product is taken in through the leaves to kill existing weed and roots.

Have used this for the past 15+ years. Always keep it on hand to control any number of weeds that grow in East Texas. Controls any large and many small leaf weeds. Highly recommend.

    Cheaper than a landscape crew

Posted by Greg on Jun 25th 2018

My neighbor hired a crew of four guys to dig up crabgrass by hand. No idea how much that must have cost him. I read good and bad reviews before I bought this stuff. I mow my lawn, wait a day, put the powder in a plastic quart jar with holes in the bottom, water a 10X10 patch of grass at a time and shake the stuff on the offending devil weed. Oh, not on a windy day. The crabgrass is gone.

    Does the job

Posted by Will on Nov 2nd 2017

My lawn gets overrun with basket grass. Standard herbicides only seem to fertilize this non-native invasive and it comes back stronger. Agralawn crabgrass killer does in the basket grass pronto. In one easy application. I drilled holes in the plastic screw on lid for a coffee crystals jar and refill it from the 25 lb. bag. It is pleasant to apply because of the cinamon smell and does not hurt the lawn grasses. I have literally spent days pulling the basket grass but that is all over now,
